О проекте
Project background
In 2025 the hotel refurbished three outdoor dining areas. It wanted one consistent furniture language and a fix for the previous metal furniture, which rusted and faded within two to three years by the sea.
Requirements and challenges
- Salt-air corrosion: less than 150 m from the sea, so metal parts sit permanently in high-salinity, high-humidity air
- Strong UV: year-round intense sun that visibly faded ordinary coatings within a single year
- Rainy season and drainage: seats get rained on often, so they must drain and dry quickly
- Visual consistency: all three zones needed the same design language under a resort look
Specification and solution
- 96 outdoor dining sets: UV-resistant powder-coated aluminium frames with weatherproof slatted seats and quick-dry cushions
- Metal parts tested to 500 hours of neutral salt spray, with coating adhesion meeting outdoor furniture standards
- Stackable chairs for easy storage during the rainy season and at night
Delivery and outcome
- 96 sets across three zones
- After a full rainy and dry season, no rust spots and no visible coating fade
- Outdoor covers increased by around 30% against the pre-refurbishment layout, improving table turnover at the terrace restaurant
Client feedback: the engineering department reported no rust-related repairs during seasonal maintenance, and staff found the quick-dry cushions clearly better than the old ones in the rainy season.
