Présentation du projet
Project background
The hotel began a full ballroom renovation in 2025 and wanted the seating system replaced without touching the fixed interior finishes. The 1,200 sqm ballroom hosts weddings, corporate annual dinners and industry conferences, with more than 200 event days a year.
Requirements and challenges
- Turnaround speed: two different events in one day require the full room to be re-set within 30 minutes
- Visual consistency: cover colours had to match the room's gold detailing and ivory linens, and survive repeated industrial laundering
- Structural durability: after years of use the old chairs had distorted frames and became unstable when stacked
Specification and solution
- 480 steel-frame upholstered banquet chairs: champagne-gold powder-coated frame, ivory fabric, 460 mm seat height, with a back profile shaped for long sitting sessions
- 520 custom chair covers (including 40 spares for rotation) in 220 gsm polyester blend, machine-washable at 60°C
- Stackable design (12 chairs per stack) with 16 chair trolleys, turning set-up from carrying single chairs into moving whole stacks
Delivery and outcome
- Delivered in two batches outside the hotel's peak season
- Measured room turnaround reduced from 55 minutes to 22 minutes
- After 30 industrial washes, cover colour deviation stayed within ΔE<1.5 with no visible yellowing
Client feedback: the banqueting team reported that the palette matched the room's gold detailing and that stacking plus trolleys noticeably reduced pre- and post-event labour.
