Background
A garment manufacturer's industrial park office block in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, completed an interior refurbishment in 2025. The office was designed with bright, functional interiors and rows of shared desks used for production scheduling, merchandising and administrative work. Seating for the entire area had to be supplied in a single delivery.
Requirements and challenges
- High batch consistency: The number of shared workstations was fixed. All chairs had to be uniform in appearance, seat feel and dimensions, with no colour variation or height discrepancies within the same area.
- Breathability and easy cleaning: Vietnam's year-round heat and humidity meant the office relied on both air conditioning and ventilation. Chair backs needed to be breathable, and seat surfaces had to withstand quick wiping for high-frequency, multi-user rotation.
- Floor protection and low noise: The office floor was finished in light-coloured tiles. Chair bases and castors could not scratch the surface, and movement noise had to be kept low to avoid disturbing the open workstations.
Specification and solution
- Grey PP seat with mesh back: Grey polypropylene seat shells were paired with breathable mesh backs. The seats resist staining and are easy to clean, while the mesh backs suit Vietnam's humid climate. The grey finish integrates with the bright interior.
- Soft quiet-rolling castors: Soft castors were specified for the light-coloured tile floor, reducing movement noise and minimising the risk of surface marks during daily use in the open office.
- Reinforced structural components: Given the high rotation frequency of shared workstations, thickened gas lifts and reinforced base mechanisms were selected to improve durability and reduce long-term maintenance.
Delivery and outcome
- On-schedule full-area delivery: All seating for the shared workstations arrived in one shipment. Production through to on-site delivery in Ho Chi Minh City was completed according to plan, without delaying the office opening.
- Batch quality inspection passed: Prior to dispatch, sample inspections were carried out on structural strength, gas lift function and castor rolling performance against batch inspection standards. All items passed before release.
- Colour and dimensional control met targets: Seat colour variation within the same production batch was controlled within factory tolerance. Visual consistency across the rows of desks was achieved, with no noticeable colour or height discrepancies.
Client feedback: The chairs are breathable and easy to wipe down. Staff find them stable across shifts, movement is quiet, and the office looks orderly.
