Project background
The school opened in 2025 with 120 standard classrooms covering three senior grades. The administration wanted the furniture in place in one procurement round while still accommodating the height differences between grades.
Requirements and challenges
- Wide height range: average student height differs by nearly 12 cm between the first and final year, so a single fixed height would not work
- A hard deadline: delivery had to arrive before term started, leaving only a two-week installation window
- Durability and safety: classrooms are cleaned frequently so desktops must resist scratching, and all edges needed safe treatment for active students
Specification and solution
- 7,200 height-adjustable desk and chair sets: powder-coated steel frame, beech-effect desktop, moulded polypropylene seat, with rounded safety edges
- Configured in three height bands by grade, with a small adjustable margin for individual students
- Matching sets for science and multi-function rooms to keep one visual standard campus-wide
Delivery and outcome
- 300 height-adjustment mechanisms sampled: zero faults, zero jamming
- When the school later added multi-function rooms, it reused the same model and colour family
Client feedback: the general affairs office reported noticeably better seating posture among younger students after banded sizing, and desktops have held up well to daily cleaning.
