Height-Adjustable School Desk and Chair Sets for a Changsha Primary School

Background

A public primary school in Changsha completed renovation of its lower-grade classrooms ahead of the 2023 autumn term, covering 6 standard classrooms. The rooms receive ample natural light and are fitted with green teaching boards and multiple colourful wall displays. The school required desks and chairs that would functionally match the brightness of the space while supporting long-term daily use by younger pupils.

Requirements and challenges

• Wide height range: Lower-grade pupils range from 110cm to 150cm in height. Fixed-height desks and chairs could not adequately serve both seating posture and writing comfort across this span.
• Floor and movement constraints: Classroom floors are level tiled surfaces. Furniture must be moved frequently during class activities, so each set needed to be light enough for pupils to reposition.
• Colour and durability: The school specified a light blue and beech tone combination. Desktop surfaces needed to resist everyday staining from erasers, watercolour markers and similar materials, with low maintenance requirements.

Specification and solution

• Height-adjustable structure: Selected a twin-column adjustable desk and chair set from our range of 6 models. Height adjustment covers the full primary school age range, and teachers can adjust sets uniformly each term using standard tools.
• Light blue desktop with beech frame: Desktops use a light blue finish; frames and drawers are beech-toned. The combination forms a clear visual layering against the green boards and coloured wall displays.
• Rounded corners and anti-slip feet: All desktop corners are rounded. Chair and desk legs are fitted with anti-slip pads to reduce movement noise and lower the risk of bumps.

Delivery and outcome

• 216 sets installed: 36 sets per classroom across 6 rooms. Desks and chairs correspond one-to-one, with no missing parts or replacements required.
• Adjustment testing passed: A sample of 30 sets was inspected. Height adjustment mechanisms moved smoothly through the full range, and desktops and seats showed no noticeable wobble once locked.

Client feedback: The children can place their feet firmly on the floor and the desktop height is just right. One adjustment by the teacher lasts a full school year.
