Project background
The campus's third phase came into use progressively from late 2025, totalling around 1,150 workstations across different floors of three buildings. The buyer wanted one approved chair model, then staged deliveries matching each building's occupation date instead of filling up warehouse space at once.
Requirements and challenges
- Phased delivery: the three buildings opened nearly six months apart, so the same model had to be supplied continuously with no batch-to-batch colour drift
- All-day comfort: engineering teams sit more than eight hours a day, so lumbar support and cushion rebound mattered
- Breathability and cleaning: dense open-plan floors need a breathable back and fabric that is easy to vacuum
Specification and solution
- 1,150 mesh-back ergonomic task chairs: breathable mesh back with a high-density fabric seat, adjustable lumbar support and armrests
- Five-star nylon base with quiet PU castors to protect hard floors and cut rolling noise
- Full-chair cycle testing to BIFMA fatigue standards, holding cushion rebound loss under 5%
Delivery and outcome
- Three deliveries with batch colour deviation within ΔE<1
- After real use across three floors, workstation configuration is now standardised and future desks can reuse the same model
- 380 workstations on a single floor were installed
Client feedback: admin and IT both noted that a single model simplified maintenance and spare-part planning, and the mesh back made the clearest difference in summer.
